This professional services agreement will provide critical assistance to the Finance Director in the daily oversight and management of the various activities in the Finance Department.

Approve the agreement with Cullen & Associates, Inc. in the amount of $80,000 for assistance in the daily oversight and management of the activities in the Finance Department; and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City.

4. Fiscal Impact
The total expenditure for this agreement will be funded by the General Fund (100) for $80,000 in account number 100.1231.51670.00000. Funding will be derived from anticipated salary savings from the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 adopted budget in the General Fund.

6. Discussion and Background
The Finance Department’s Assistant Director will be retiring from City service next month.
While the recruitment is underway, this agreement with Cullen & Associates, Inc. provides oversight in this critical area and management of the activities in the Finance Department, including completing the year-end audits and other required reports for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023. In addition, the Interim Assistant Finance Director will be assisting the Director with reviewing the current business practices and internal policies and providing recommendations to the City Manager for consideration.
The agreement will be funded through anticipated salary savings.
