4. Fiscal Impact
The total expenditure for this purchase is $153,000 and will be funded upon adoption of the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget through General Fund (100).

6. Discussion and Background
The Police Department currently uses Winchester law enforcement ammunition for duty firearms and weapons training requirements in compliance with the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and department policy. Staff has researched available competitive options and certifies the required ammunition is distributed by only one vendor. Dooley Enterprises, Inc. (Dooley’s) of Anaheim, California, is the only authorized California distributor for this brand. The proximity of Dooley’s with the department allows for purchases in small quantities and allows for product pick-up on an as-need basis. The Council has previously authorized Dooley’s as a sole source vendor and this sole source specification is a continuation of that policy.
The Police Department is requesting the continuation of Winchester law enforcement ammunition supplies from sole source vendor, Dooley’s, for a total amount of $153,000.
