2. SUMMARY
Bids for the Annual Sewer Replacement/Maintenance Fiscal Year 2023-2024 were received and opened on June 6, 2024. Eight bidders responded to the notice inviting bids. The apparent low bidder is CEM Construction Corporation of Downey, California in the amount of $2,079,170.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION

Approve the contract with CEM Construction Corporation in the total amount of $2,287,087, representing an original bid amount of $2,079,170, plus a 10% contingency of $207,917, for Annual Sewer Replacement/Maintenance Fiscal Year 2023-2024; and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Annual Sewer Replacement/Maintenance Fiscal Year 2023-2024 is designed to upgrade the City's aging sewer infrastructure by replacing pipes that are structurally deficient, improving pipeline capacity, and minimizing maintenance issues resulted from damaged sewer mainlines. This project will consist of sewer line maintenance funded by the Sewer Construction Fund.
