2. Summary
The Tustin Avenue/Rose Drive Corridor Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program Project impacted 39 intersections along an 11-mile stretch across the cities of Orange, Placentia, Santa Ana, Tustin, and Yorba Linda. Through a cooperative agreement between the partner agencies, the City of Orange was designated as the lead agency for the implementation of project improvements. The project included communication conduits, fiber optic cables, and hardware; traffic signal cabinet and controller upgrades; ADA-compliant pedestrian pushbuttons and countdown indications; emergency vehicle preemption; and field monitoring equipment such as vehicle detectors and CCTV cameras. As the lead agency, the City bid and entered into a construction contract with Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc. The work was completed to the satisfaction of the City’s Public Works Department and to the partner cities in this project.
