6.                     Discussion and Background

The City Council appointed Thomas C. Kisela (Kisela) as City Manager, effective March 14, 2023, for a two-year term with Kisela expecting to retire at the end of said term.  Said term is set to expire on March 26, 2025.  City Council is currently engaged in a comprehensive recruitment process for a new City Manager.  This search is not yet complete and there is no set date for such completion.

The City Council desires to retain Kisela as City Manager until a suitable replacement can be hired.  To accomplish this in the most fiscally responsible way, City and Kisela agree to an extension of the term on a month-to-month basis with no change in compensation.  Either the City or Kisela must give thirty (30) days’ notice for the agreement to terminate which will occur upon the hiring of a new City Manager.
