6.                     Discussion and Background

In late 2019, the City selected Tetra Tech, Inc. to design and provide construction support services for the Well 28 and Public Pocket Park Project.  Phase 1 of the Project, which includes the drilling of the well, was completed in 2022. Phase 2, which includes the equipping of the well and construction of the Public Pocket Park Project, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed in April 2025.  The allocated budget for shop drawing reviews, responding to request for information (RFI), and landscape and architectural support has been exhausted while there are additional submittals and RFIs that still need to be reviewed and responded to. These submittals are highly technical and require support from the design team to ensure the project is constructed per the approved plans and specifications. At staff’s request, Tetra Tech, Inc. provided a proposal for additional construction support in the amount of $58,150, bringing the total design cost of the project to $996,350.
