2. Summary
The City of Orange entered into a contract with Pavement Coatings Co. for the Annual Slurry Seal at Various Locations, Fiscal Year 2023-2024. Due to the existing field conditions and favorable bid unit prices, extra work and additional streets have been added in the amount of $117,773.

6. Discussion and Background
The City Council awarded the Annual Slurry Seal at Various Locations, Fiscal Year 2023-2024 on September 12, 2023, to Pavement Coatings Co.
During construction, additional work was added due to existing field conditions that required more pavement removal. One street was also added to improve pavement conditions. The extra work was agreed at the bid unit prices in the amount of $55,923 which represents a 8.22% increase from the awarded contract amount of $680,350. Staff is recommending that the City Council approves the first amendment to the contract in the amount of $55,923 bringing the total awarded contract amount to $736,273.
