The City of Orange has entered into a contract with CJ Concrete Construction, Inc. for the Annual Concrete Replacement at Various Locations Fiscal Year 2025-2026. Additional locations have been added to the agreed bid unit prices in the amount of $105,100.

1. Approve the amendment to the contract with CJ Concrete Construction, Inc. in the amount of $105,100 for Annual Concrete Replacement at Various Locations Fiscal Year 2025-2026; and authorize the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City.
2. Authorize the continuing appropriation of $161,604.93 from the Fiscal Year 2026 CIP budget account into the Fiscal Year 2027 budget:

6. Discussion and Background
The City Council Awarded the Annual Concrete Replacement at Various Locations Fiscal Year 2025-2026 on June 23, 2026, to CJ Concrete Construction, Inc. The project addresses concrete repairs identified by the Public Works Department, replacing sidewalk displacements and lifted curbs and gutters.
The unit bid prices from CJ Concrete Construction, Inc., were very favorable to the City to increase the scope of work. As such, staff recommends adding approximately 4,650 square feet of sidewalk, 600 linear feet of curb and gutter and 150 square feet of driveway approaches.
The awarded contract amount for CJ Concrete Construction, Inc. was $597,816.00 including the 15% contingency. First Amendment to the contract represents 17.5% increase from the original awarded contract amount bringing the total contract amount of total awarded contract amount to $702,916.
