6.                     Discussion and Background

In 2018, the City executed an agreement with Digital Networks Group for the installation of audio-visual equipment in the Orange Public Library & History Center community room, funded by the Orange Public Library Foundation. Digital Networks Group has since been acquired by Avidex Industries, LLC. The Library has received service and maintenance on an as-needed basis from Avidex Industries, LLC in the past five years.

The El Modena Branch Library community room does not currently have the same capability to hold programs and meetings as the Orange Public Library & History Center community room because of obsolete and outdated equipment that are now nearing end of life. This agreement with Avidex Industries, LLC will provide a new projector screen, overhead projector, and sound system that will improve the quality of programs presented in the community room, as well as improve the user experience for community members who reserve the room for presentations and meetings.

The Orange Public Library will publicize the Friends’ and Foundation’s contributions in a variety of ways, including plaques where appropriate and credit for support on the Library’s website, flyers, and social media.
