Disbursement and donation funds from Santiago Library System and Friends of Orange Public Library will be used to enhance and expand the Library’s collections, programming, and resources.

4. Fiscal Impact
There is no direct fiscal impact to the City. The additional revenue received from Santiago Library System and Friends of Orange Public Library will fund the expense for these services.

6. Discussion and Background
The Orange Public Library has been presented with a $7,335 disbursement from Santiago Library System (SLS). SLS is a membership consortium of Orange County libraries that receives money from the State and disburses annually to member libraries. This disbursement to the Library has been provided for e-content products and services. Funds will purchase additional eBooks and eAudiobooks from cloudLibrary to expand the Library’s collection.
The Friends of Orange Public Library (Friends) are donating $41,000 to meet various Library needs, including:
• $6,000 to provide digital resources for the public.
• $27,500 to purchase books and audio-visual materials for all ages for the three Library locations.
• $5,000 for programs for all ages for the three Library locations.
• $2,500 for the Library’s Employee Appreciation Program.
The Orange Public Library will publicize the Friends’ contributions in a variety of ways, including bookplates and plaques where appropriate, and credit for programming support on the Library’s website, flyers, and social media.
