The City of Santa Ana and the City of Orange have prepared a cooperative agreement outlining each city's financial responsibility for the Main Street Slurry Seal and Resurfacing project.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
recommendation
Approve the cooperative agreement with the City of Santa Ana in the amount of $104,670, representing the City of Orange's share of the estimated construction costs plus a 15% contingency, for the Main Street Slurry Seal and Resurfacing Project; and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Main Street Slurry Seal and Resurfacing Project is designed to upgrade the pavement on Main Street from Memory Lane to the northern City of Santa Ana city limit and approximately 250 feet of Town and Country east of Main Street. Main Street is an existing six-lane major arterial located on the border of the City of Orange and City of Santa Ana, lying partially in Orange and partially in Santa Ana. Project improvements include grinding localized areas of the existing asphalt concrete pavement and repaving the street with asphalt concrete base course, applying a slurry seal over the entire project area, adjusting surface utility covers, replacing traffic loop detectors, traffic striping, curb and gutter, and ADA ramps.
