2. SUMMARY
Authorize purchase of internal mixers and installation services to replace aging and non-functioning mixers at Reservoirs 5, 8, and 10 from PAX Water Technologies. PAX Water Technologies is the current manufacturer of all PAX mixer products and is the only vendor for the PAX mixers.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION

Approve contract with PAX Water Technologies for the purchase of equipment and installation services of internal mixers for Reservoirs 5, 8, and 10; and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City.

4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this project is $133,920 and will be funded through Water Fund (600) expenditure account number 600.8011.51401.00000.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The PAX mixers are used in water storage tanks to improve water quality especially during the hot summer months. The constant mixing of water in the reservoir reduces stratification, improves chlorine residuals, and increases the turnover rate. The mixers minimize potential negative effects on the water quality in the system. Since 2012, the Public Works Water Division has installed the PAX mixers at different reservoirs with excellent results. The existing mixers at Reservoirs 5, 8, and 10 have reached the end of their service life and need to be replaced with new equipment.
