Appropriation of funds from Fund 553, Capital Bond Proceeds to Police Headquarters (HQ) Lobby Roof and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Rehabilitation account to ensure sufficient funds for construction management cost (Bid No. 21-22.13; SP-4130).
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION

Authorize the appropriation of $170,000 from Fund 553, Capital Bond Proceeds unreserved fund balance to expenditure account number 553.5028.56020.20444, Police HQ Atrium Rehabilitation.

4. FISCAL IMPACT
Upon approval of the appropriation, the estimated total expenditure for this contract including contingency is $3,992,744 and will be funded in Police HQ Atrium Rehabilitation (20444) through Capital Bond Proceeds (553) in expenditure account number 553.5028.56020.20444, Police HQ Atrium Rehabilitation.
Upon approval of this appropriation, the Capital Bond Proceeds (553) estimated fund balance on October 24, 2023, will be $475,072.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
On March 8, 2022, the City Council awarded the contract for Police HQ Lobby Roof and HVAC Rehabilitation project to the apparent low bidder, New Dynasty Construction, Co. of Tustin, California in the amount of $3,822,744, representing an original contract amount of $3,475,221 plus a 10% contingency of $347,523.
