The postponement of annual preventative maintenance for Emergency Medical Services equipment in Fiscal Year 2023-2024 has necessitated a purchase order increase of $25,000 to ensure sufficient funding for medical supplies and equipment maintenance for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Approval of this increase will not impact the General Fund.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Fire Department procures medical supplies from multiple vendors, with Stryker Medical being a primary provider. Stryker Medical not only supplies expendable medical items but also serves as the sole source provider for preventative maintenance and repair of critical Emergency Medical Services (EMS) equipment, including the LUCAS 3 Chest Compression devices, Power-PRO ambulance cots, and Power-LOAD systems.
Due to delays in annual maintenance and increases in the prices of expendable medical supplies, the purchase order with Stryker Medical has been fully utilized.
