This resolution gives authority to the Director of Public Works to be the signing authority of grant documents related to the $1,472,000 in grant funding received from the California Coastal Conservancy for the Upland Habitat Restoration Project, a component of the larger OC River Walk project.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION

Adopt Resolution No. 11679. A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Orange approving the grant of funds from the State Coastal Conservancy for the Upland Habitat Restoration Design Project and authorizing the Director of Public Works to sign a grant agreement and related documents.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The City has been an active participant in the OC River Walk project including participation in the establishment of a master plan for the project in 2021 and execution of a cooperative agreement for the project with the City of Anaheim in 2023. Specifically, the cornerstone for the City of Orange's participation in the project is the development of improvements contemplated in the OC River Walk Master Plan on property, north of Katella Avenue, directly adjacent to the Stadium Prominade Shopping Center. This property is directly across the Santa Ana River from the Honda Center and the OC Vibe project. This project also has significance for the City's efforts on economic revitalization for the West Katella Avenue area.
