1. Accept into the City’s General Fund (100) revenue budget $45,000 in donation funds from the Friends of Orange Public Library to:

2. Authorize the appropriation of $45,000 to General Fund (100) as follows:
100-2101-53101-262105-20 Operating Materials & Supplies $5,000
100-2102-80101-262105-20 Furniture, Machinery & Equipment $40,000

4. Fiscal Impact
There is no direct fiscal impact to the City. The additional revenue received from the Friends of Orange Public Library will fund the expense for these services.

6. Discussion and Background
The Friends of Orange Public Library (Friends) are donating $45,000 toward the purchase of books and technology, which include computers and laptops for the public at the Orange Public Library & History Center as well as the El Modena and Taft Branch Libraries. The Orange Public Library will publicize the Friends’ contribution in a variety of ways, including bookplates and signage where appropriate, and give credit for support on the Library’s website and social media.
