The total appropriation for this reimbursement is funded by the additional revenue received from the sports field user group.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Sports Field Maintenance and Renovation Reimbursement
In September 2000, the City Council approved a 25-year joint-use agreement with Rancho Santiago Community College District (District) for the use of two soccer fields located at Santiago Canyon College (SCC) for education and recreational activities benefitting the community. Per the terms of the agreement, the District and the City agree to pay fair share for the maintenance and utility costs associated with the fields. The City's fair share costs for 2019 is $ 35,318.98.
The Community Services Department has developed a cooperative program with ongoing youth sports groups to fund annual maintenance and renovation of sports fields. Through the program, user groups reimburse the City for the repetitive use of the sports fields in order to cover maintenance and renovation costs according to use.
