2. SUMMARY
The eligible joint allocation amount awarded to the County of Orange is $500,787 of which $14,316 is allocated to the City of Orange. The County of Orange is requesting approval of an agreement that allocates the City's 2023 program funds as follows: $1,432 for grant administrative fees to the County, and $12,884 retained by the City.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION

1. Approve the agreement with the County of Orange in the amount of $12,884 for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and authorize the City Manager to execute on behalf of the City.
2. Accept into the City's revenue budget $12,884 in grant funds from the County of Orange, into revenue account number 353.4011.45150.30234, Federal Grants-2023 JAG.
3. Authorize the appropriation of $12,884 into expenditure account number 353.4011.55131.30234, Equipment - 2023 JAG.

4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total appropriations for this grant are funded by the additional revenue received from the County of Orange.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to states and units of local government. In October 2023, the U.S. Department of Justice approved the application for funding under the 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial JAG Program. The joint allocation amount awarded to the County of Orange is $500,787, of which $12,884 was awarded to the City of Orange Police Department to support the purchase of computers.
