2.                     Summary

For several years, the City of Orange has been a member of the Association of California Cities - Orange County. In considering the City’s structural budget deficit, staff is seeking direction from the City Council on whether the membership with the Association of California Cities - Orange County should be renewed.

The expense for this membership is $21,654.35 and will be funded through the General Fund (100):

6.                     Discussion and Background

For several years, the City of Orange has been a member of the Association of California Cities - Orange County (ACCOC). ACCOC provides legislative advocacy services on behalf of over 25 Orange County cities. In addition to legislative advocacy, ACCOC also provides educational and training opportunities for its members.

Staff is seeking City Council direction on whether the City should renew its membership with the ACCOC.
