2. SUMMARY
The eligible joint allocation amount awarded to the County of Orange is $408,881 of which $11,805 is allocated to the City of Orange. The County of Orange is requesting approval of an agreement that allocates the City's 2024 program funds as follows: $1,312 for grant administrative fees to the County, and $11,805 retained by the City to purchase a mobile ballistic shield.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION

1. Approve the agreement with the County of Orange in the amount of $11,805 for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and authorize the City Manager to execute on behalf of the City.

4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no direct fiscal impact to the City. The additional revenue received from the County of Orange will fund the expense for this program.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to states and units of local government. In December 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice approved the application for funding under the 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial JAG Program.
