Authorize purchase in the amount of $100,000 with Fire Apparatus Solutions for fire apparatus repairs for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Fire Apparatus Solutions has been previously approved by the City Council as a single source vendor and is recognized as the standard for these repairs.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Public Works Department Fleet Division is responsible for maintaining the ready status of all fire apparatus and performs most maintenance and repairs in-house. However, major structural and specialized repairs are performed by qualified outside vendors, of whom there are only two in Southern California: Fire Apparatus Solutions (FAS) in Rialto and Southern California Fleet Services, Inc. (So Cal Fleet) in Anaheim.
So Cal Fleet handles mechanical repairs, while FAS specializes in mechanical repairs and painting. FAS's specialization makes them uniquely qualified for fire apparatus repairs that reasonably meet the Fire Department's needs. The Council has previously authorized FAS as the single source vendor, and this is a continuation of that policy.
