At the January 2024 Park Planning and Community Events Commission Meeting, a policy for Naming of Parks and for Fundraising Efforts for Park Facilities/Amenities was presented. This draft Policy for Park Asset Naming and Donations for Park Improvements is the result of the Commission's request to separate the policy into two: one for the Naming of New City Parks and one for Fundraising Efforts for City Park Facilities/Amenities.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
At the January 2024 Commission Meeting, a Policy for Naming of Parks and for Fundraising Efforts for Park Facilities/Amenities was presented, however, the Commission requested that staff separate the policy into two: one for the Naming of New City Parks and one for Fundraising Efforts for City Park Facilities/Amenities. Attached is a draft policy outlining criteria for Park Asset Naming and Donations for Park Improvements which includes elements of similar policies adopted in other Orange County cities.
The Commission is being asked to provide input on the draft policy and provide a recommendation to the City Council.
